Within Capex/MRO & Utilities, the Assistant Procurement Manager – Capex Philippines is responsible for the sourcing strategy development, implementation, and procurement in the Capex/MRO/Utilities category for their geography. Unilever spends about 1.5B+ Euro annually in Capex & MRO. This role will be responsible to achieve our Capex strategy on new technology/ innovation / automation that the company makes directly and indirectly in all value chain) from a Procurement standpoint in support of our business strategy covering Philippines. Support Procurement Manager with delivering key targets related to Cost and Cash, Quality and Service, Innovation and Sustainable Living. This role forms a key business partner with Engineering team at supply chain sites. The Assistant Procurement Manager will increase efficiency of our Capex procurement by driving scale where it makes sense, decreasing fragmentation, pooling expertise across South East Asia region, prioritizing higher impact spend areas, leveraging technology and data, and delivering on best practices.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support Procurement Manager in developing and executing supplier strategy for CAPEX portfolio
  • Assess supply market and adapt strategy according to market conditions
  • Assess supplier capability and suitability through regular site visits and reporting back on findings
  • Develop and improve supplier cost models to drive increase in transparency of cost drivers
  • Unlock cash and cost value through setting up and execution of benchmarking, RFQs, E-tenders
  • Support delivery of savings and creditor extension programme for portfolio
  • Support and occasionally lead supplier negotiation
  • Provide market intelligence to portfolio manager and business leaders to assist in strategic decision making
  • Connect with site engineering and regional engineering teams and other business partners as well as with suppliers, to understand future technology and capability roadmap
  • Lead on-boarding of new suppliers by driving full quality and responsible sourcing compliance
  • Ensure 100% contractual compliance through signing of Unilever Purchasing Agreements and Commercial Term Contracts as well as Special Term Contracts
  • Regularly connect with global counterparts to ensure the Philippines portfolio is link with the global strategy
  • Successful implement global strategic plans in Philippines
  • Manage relationships with Supply chain and other business partners, to leverage and land strategic plans
  • Good understanding of the portfolio cost models as well as the indices link to the material types
  • Establish successful Ways of Working (WoW) between stakeholders and Procurement
  • Develop and execute ongoing communications with the stakeholders for the selected sourcing strategies and progress within area of spend responsibility
  • Manage the relationship with key supplier partner as part of the portfolio in the context of the Unilever Partner with Purpose (PWP) programme

Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Management
  • Experience in CAPEX/MRO/Utilities portfolio or FMCG
  • Experienced in setting up and managing complex supplier contracts
  • Previous experience in Engineering related field
  • A proven commercial operator and excellent negotiator
  • Experienced in stakeholder and supplier management
  • Strong communicator with experience in working successful in virtual team environments
  • Skilled at challenging business stakeholders and driving change
