Join Birmingham Children’s Trust as an Assistant Principal Social Worker in the Quality Assurance Directorate. This role provides support within our Practice Hub, focusing on continual improvement to drive up the quality of practice and partnerships across the city, ensuring every child and family receives the best possible support.
Job Responsibility:
Be an ambassador for our practice framework, Connections Count, promoting best practice across the Trust
Lead and support learning reviews, improvement projects, and quality assurance activities
Develop and maintain social care policies, guidance, and tools
Support the development of staff and champion inclusive practice, with a focus on equality, diversity, and rights
Collaborate with children, young people, families, carers, and staff to drive continuous improvement
Deputise for the Principal Social Worker and other managers as needed
Requirements:
Professionally registered Social Worker with a degree-level qualification and relevant professional accreditation
Up-to-date knowledge of national and regional developments in children’s social care
Experience in providing supervision or mentoring, leading change, and undertaking quality assurance activities
Strong skills in drafting accessible policies and guidance, and in supporting professional development at all levels
Commitment to safeguarding, promoting welfare, and advocating for anti-discriminatory practices
Must have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK
