Job Description:

Due to continued growth and a change in responsibilities within our leadership structure, we are now recruiting an Assistant Practice Manager to support the day-to-day running of the practice and provide both clinical and operational leadership. This is a key role within the practice, offering a combination of clinical support and management responsibility, ideal for an experienced, qualified dental nurse looking to take the next step in their career. The role offers flexibility with the hours, for the right candidate.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong organisational and leadership skills who enjoys working in a busy, patient-focused environment. Abbeymead Dental Centre is a smart, modern 8-surgery practice. Our success is built on our fabulous, friendly, and highly supportive team. We have experienced clinicians supported by qualified dental nurses, an excellent Treatment Coordinator, and a Practice Manager who work closely together to ensure the highest standards of patient care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting the Practice Manager with daily operations
  • Assisting with compliance, governance and regulatory requirements
  • Acting as lead or deputy for key roles such as Safeguarding, RPS, Information Governance, Complaints, Fire Safety and First Aid
  • Supporting team leadership, recruitment, onboarding and training of the practice
  • Helping maintain high standards of patient care and experience
  • Assisting with team coordination, rotas, and administrative processes
  • Supporting diary management and operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a dental practice management role or a senior dental role (preferred)
  • Qualified Dental Nurse with radiography training
  • Strong clinical confidence
  • Experience working with specialists and complex clinics
  • Confident using dental systems (SOE) and compliance systems (iComply / DCME)
  • Previous leadership experience or ready to step into a leadership role
  • Organised, proactive and confident supporting a busy practice environment

  • Participate in substantive and potentially confidential discussions regarding performance at both the practice group and individual levels
  • Identify themes through in-depth discussions on various markets
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration as needed among Business Managers, Finance, BD, HR, etc.
  • Be able to lead discussions, as necessary, with various Leadership levels
  • Analyze key metrics and levers to manage, and improve, performance and convey succinctly to all stakeholders the means and manner to reach high performance
  • Provide detailed analysis and information needed to explain and drive financial initiatives and priorities within and across Practice Groups
  • Through the data analysis, assist in developing clear insights, trends and commentary to highlight the key messages
