Job Description

We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Assistant Planner to join our team. This is a long-term contract position within the higher education sector, offering a hybrid work schedule of three days on-site and two days remote. The role requires occasional travel using a company vehicle, so a valid driver’s license is essential.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare comprehensive technical documents and analyses to support various planning projects and initiatives
  • Gather, organize, and interpret planning data, assisting in the creation of surveys, reports, and visually engaging presentation materials
  • Develop graphics and visual aids using software tools such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Review and analyze plans and documentation submitted by other teams, summarizing key points for managerial review
  • Provide support for divisional planning projects as directed by leadership
  • Participate in agency meetings alongside the Manager, tracking developments and meetings that may have organizational impact
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and related tasks for project-related travel needs
  • Perform additional administrative and planning-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Urban Planning, Administrative Studies, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for graphics and visual aid development
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Background in Urban Planning or a related discipline is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required for occasional travel
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment

  • Assist the planner / senior planner with production of the tender deliverables as required
  • Capture and input ‘actual data’ to the current programme of site works, as directed by senior planner / planner / project manager
  • Assist with production of the monthly and period updated programme, progress reports and revised forecasts and its communication to the site team, client and all major stakeholders
  • Provide planning support to assist the project in order to enable the team to monitor pinch-points on the critical path and test logic where previously agreed to either improve upon the baseline programme or to mitigate potential delays
  • Assist in the production of reports and programme commentary
  • Produce reports and / or extract filters as required by the project team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme
