Unilever is currently hiring for Assistant Packaging Development Manager, UFS Foods Turkey. This is a great role for an experienced person who wants to perform in a fast and demanding business-oriented environment. The job holder will work closely with internal Unilever functions (R&D, Marketing, Supply Management, and Supply Chain) and external suppliers to cover all aspects of the development and deployment within Turkey, in collaboration with regional & global teams. As Assistant Packaging Development Manager (Foods), you will support the end-to-end delivery of pack solutions that are safe, sustainable, cost-effective, and operationally robust for UFS Turkey. You will contribute to innovations, renovations, sustainability, and savings programs, ensuring packaging meets business, customer, and regulatory requirements while delighting professional chefs and operators.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead packaging innovation/renovation and saving projects OTIF for UFS TUI
  • Lead UFS Sustainable Packaging Programme with regional & global teams
  • Ensuring all packaging material (PAM) and palletisation pattern (P&P) specs are successfully created and approved in teamcenter ready for successful BOM creation
  • Ability to use SAP-PLM system for BOM creation & approvals when required for all the UFS portfolio
  • Supports the implementation of specifications reflecting regional/local technical requirements
  • Ensures specification completeness and integrity and understands the correct spec hierarchy in PLM
  • Maintain good, open, internal communication with data team, formulation and packaging developers, to ensure projects are delivered OTIF
  • Involvement and support of complexity reduction initiatives, including providing regional updates
  • Close collaboration with Marketing, Procurement and Supply Chain departments and R&D function supporting the business needs
  • Idea generation for savings and GM improvement
  • Building and maintaining relations with existing & new suppliers and developing them
  • Supporting related company functions to solve packaging related Supply Chain manufacturing issues, Quality issues, and Consumer Complaints
  • Supporting execution of tests & trials at laboratory, pilot plant or full factory scale and reporting of test & trial outcomes
  • Contributing to risk assessment and executing risk management plans for projects
  • Ensuring compliance to Internal Unilever protocols, External regulatory environment, while developing product solutions with respect to commitment to safety, environment, claim support, specification management etc
  • Supporting in competitor benchmarking
  • Leading promotion, AW change, copack projects where necessary
  • Collaborate with GMEA regional packaging teams to align on best practices, share learnings, and contribute to cross-country packaging initiatives and projects
  • Provide technical input and support for regional rollouts, harmonization, and innovation activities as required

Requirements:

  • University degree in engineering
  • preferably mechanical, food, or chemical engineering background
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, packaging filling lines / Quality Assurance in packaging / R&D packaging development department (preferred)
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience and knowledge of 2D and 3D visualization software packages (preferable)
  • Experience and knowledge in packaging testing and packaging validation in FMCG
  • Strong multiple interfaces cooperation and management with the capability of leading virtual teams
  • Very good team player with can do attitude, growth mindset, and curiosity
  • Work under pressure and time constraints proactively
  • Fluent in English and Turkish, written and spoken
