Job Description:

The Assistant Designer is responsible for assisting in designing new concepts and designs for a product category within defined theme and seasons from concept through final delivery. Coordinate and deliver brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy, encompassing style, color/print and graphic design for new/existing product lines. Support research and interpreting fashion trends and consumer needs that uphold the integrity of the product lines/brand.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in conceptualizing and translating design trends into concepts and components of a seasonal collection
  • Support researching trends and patterns for upcoming seasons
  • identify trends and apply them to product / label design
  • Support partnership with Merchandising to ensure the integrity of the design is maintained during the product development process
  • Assist in gaining approval from Legal and Regulatory on designs
  • Assist in creation and execution of final designs
  • Update design board layouts and printouts, including concept boards
  • Create Design Turn Overs (DTO) and finalize artwork for hand-off to the Production Team Order
  • Provide approved designs and design direction to mechanical art team for development of technical specifications
  • Assist in reviewing mechanical artwork for final design approval prior to release

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 – 3 years of prior experience in 2D design, Illustration and graphic/product design
  • Strong sense of design, typography and color
  • expertise in 2D label or graphic design preferred
  • Strong level of creativity, conceptualization, execution, organization and design skills professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience
