Job Description:

We're seeking an experienced Assistant Operations Director to support and partner with our Operations Director in a fast-paced, service-oriented service bureau environment. This role blends hands-on operational leadership with strategic execution, product management, process improvement, and team support. If you're a payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement, this role offers real impact and growth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support daily payroll operations management and ensure timely, accurate processing
  • Assist with implementing and improving operational policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Manage new products and coordinate these projects from planning through execution and communication
  • Assist the Director in compliance audits, and quality control initiatives
  • Be the point of escalation for complex client issues and challenges
  • Be the 'Operations Director' when that person is unavailable

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of management experience
  • 5 to 7 years of payroll administration experience in a service bureau environment
  • HCM experience required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in excel
  • Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (or CPP)
  • Knowledge of Payroll banking and Payroll Tax

Nice to have:
