Maintains standards for professional staff behavior in the department
Provides staff with constructive feedback on performance in a timely manner
Utilizes HR policies on progressive corrective action to address unresolved staff issues
Models professional behavior and collaboration for staff

Monitors staff adherence to assignments and duties
Delegates appropriate activities to responsible staff
Uses acuity tracking system for staffing and patient care assignments

Coordinates education opportunities for staff and schedules appropriately

Is timely and thorough in communicating with Nurse Manager regarding unit and employee issues
Utilizes the Chain of Command for any unresolved staff or unit issues
Demonstrates ability to effectively manage internal & external conflict
Demonstrates leadership role in staff engagement
Feedback is provided on a consistent basis for staff
Participates in multidisciplinary processes
Assumes the role of Patient Experience lead for the department
Rounds on patients to assess needs
Provides clinical direction and serves as a resource for problem solving
Provides service recovery for identified problems
Manages department staffing, scheduling, and timecard issues
Schedules are submitted balanced to Nurse Manager to facilitate departmental needs
Assigns patient care to staff appropriate to skill and competency levels
Uses approved staffing standards to staff the department according to patient need
Proficient in timecard editing and authorizes overtime and paid time off in a timely manner
Requirements
Associate Of Nursing (ADN) with progression towards obtaining Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within three (3) years of hire or minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse
Registered Nurse: CA (RN)
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
