JLL Project and Development Services (PDS) Mumbai is seeking a skilled Assistant MEP Manager to support our commercial fit-out project delivery team. This role requires a technically proficient professional who will assist in managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems coordination for corporate interior projects while developing advanced expertise in complex MEP integration within occupied commercial buildings.

Job Responsibility:

  • MEP Systems Coordination Support MEP system design review and coordination for commercial interior fit-out projects
  • Assist in managing electrical power distribution, HVAC modifications, plumbing systems, fire protection, data/telecom infrastructure, and lighting design coordination
  • Ensure seamless integration between new fit-out MEP requirements and existing base building systems while maintaining operational continuity for occupied spaces
  • Technical Design Support Review MEP drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and building standards
  • Coordinate with consulting engineers, MEP contractors, and base building management teams to resolve technical conflicts and optimize system integration
  • Support load calculations, equipment sizing, and system capacity analysis for HVAC and electrical modifications
  • Construction Phase Management Oversee MEP installation activities during construction phases including rough-in coordination, equipment installation, testing and commissioning, and final connections
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work quality, code compliance, and adherence to approved drawings
  • Coordinate MEP work sequencing with general construction activities to minimize disruptions to building operations
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination Interface with MEP subcontractors, equipment suppliers, and specialty vendors to ensure timely procurement and installation of systems and components
  • Review shop drawings, product submittals, and material specifications for compliance with project requirements
  • Support contractor prequalification, bid evaluation, and performance monitoring throughout project execution
  • Quality Control & Compliance Implement quality control procedures for MEP installations including inspection protocols, testing requirements, and documentation standards
  • Ensure compliance with Indian building codes, NFPA standards, energy codes, and client-specific technical requirements
  • Support commissioning activities and system performance validation prior to occupancy
  • Project Documentation Maintain comprehensive MEP project documentation including as-built drawings, equipment warranties, operation manuals, and maintenance procedures
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and coordination meeting minutes
  • Support handover documentation preparation and facility management training coordination
  • Client & Stakeholder Interface Support client meetings, technical presentations, and design coordination sessions related to MEP systems
  • Interface with building management teams, utility providers, and regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals and permits
  • Assist in managing tenant coordination for MEP tie-ins and service interruptions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in MEP systems design, construction, or project management
  • At least 4 years focused on commercial fit-out or interior construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems including VAV systems, fan coil units, split systems, and central plant modifications
  • Proficiency in electrical systems including power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm systems, and low voltage infrastructure
  • Understanding of plumbing systems, fire protection, and building automation integration within commercial environments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and marking up MEP drawings
  • Familiarity with Revit MEP, MS Project, and construction management software platforms
  • Experience with commercial interior fit-out projects in occupied buildings including coordination with base building systems and operations
  • Understanding of corporate office environments, open office MEP requirements, conference room systems, kitchen facilities, and data center/server room infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to technical detail
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse project stakeholders
  • Ability to read and interpret complex MEP drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

  • Experience with sustainable design principles, energy efficiency measures, and green building certification processes
  • Knowledge of modern workplace trends including smart building technologies, wellness standards, and flexible workspace MEP requirements
  • Understanding of Indian building codes, NBC provisions, state electricity board requirements, and local authority approval processes
  • Familiarity with fire department coordination and NOC procedures for commercial projects
