Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart your career in materials testing and civil infrastructure? We are currently seeking four (4) Assistant Materials Officers to join a major infrastructure project team. This is a contract starting in June 2026 and running through to 27th November 2026 with potential extensions. Reporting to the Materials Technologist, you will provide vital support in materials classification and compliance. This is a hands-on role that blends laboratory precision with rugged field investigations.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform basic materials classification and assist senior practitioners with specialist testing
  • Assist with sampling, equipment calibration, and site investigations across the region
  • Conduct all work in strict accordance with Management Operations Systems and develop a working knowledge of NATA accreditation
  • Maintain equipment and strictly adhere to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) protocols, including the consistent use of PPE
  • Travel with senior staff for pavement investigations
