Job Description:

Assistant Manager responsible for restaurant/bar operations and room service. Assists in daily supervision, menu planning, maintaining sanitation standards, and improving guest and employee satisfaction. Works at Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel as part of the Marriott International family.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in daily supervision of restaurant operations
  • Assist with menu planning
  • Maintain sanitation standards
  • Assist servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods
  • Improve guest and employee satisfaction
  • Determine training needs and implement plans
  • Handle employee questions and concerns
  • Monitor employee performance
  • Provide feedback to employees
  • Supervise daily shift operations
  • Supervise restaurant in absence of Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager
  • Participate in department meetings
  • Ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
  • Communicate food quality and service level issues
  • Ensure compliance with restaurant policies and procedures
  • Monitor alcohol beverage service compliance
  • Achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • Perform duties of restaurant employees as necessary
  • Open and close restaurant shifts
  • Interact with guests for feedback
  • Supervise staffing levels
  • Handle guest problems and complaints
  • Improve service performance
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results
  • Meet and greet guests
  • Conduct on-going training initiatives
  • Coach and counsel employees
  • Provide information to supervisors and coworkers
  • Analyze information and solve problems

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
