Assistant Manager SCM role in Mumbai, Maharashtra, focusing on production planning, material planning, inventory management, supply chain optimization, vendor management, customer satisfaction, and logistics.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and implement production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels
Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to ensure on-time production
Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and capacity utilization to minimize bottlenecks
Adjust production plans based on demand fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, or machine availability
Create material requirement plans (MRP) to ensure the availability of raw materials and components
Optimize minimum order quantities (MOQs), safety stocks, and reorder levels to reduce inventory costs
Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of CRCA sheets, aluminum, copper, plastic molded parts, fasteners, coatings, and electrical components
Develop alternate sourcing strategies to mitigate supply risks
Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost efficiency and production continuity
Implement ABC/XYZ analysis to categorize inventory based on consumption patterns
Reduce obsolete and slow-moving inventory through strategic planning
Improve inventory turnover ratio by minimizing excess stock and ensuring lean operations
Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives in procurement, logistics, and inventory management
Drive supply chain digitalization, including ERP/SAP-based tracking of materials and processes
Develop supplier performance dashboards and KPIs to enhance operational efficiency
Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and Value Engineering (VA/VE) for process improvements
Evaluate and Develop subcontracted items, and finished goods
Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and annual agreements to ensure cost-effective procurement
Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality, lead time, and reliability standards
Establish vendor risk management strategies, including multiple sourcing and contingency planning
Ensure on-time delivery (OTD) performance by aligning production schedules with customer orders
Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to manage order fulfillment and resolve delivery issues
Maintain transparent communication with customers regarding order status, lead times, and delays
Address customer complaints and logistics challenges by collaborating with internal teams
Manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of materials and finished goods
Optimize freight costs, transport routes, and warehouse space utilization
Coordinate with logistics partners and transporters to improve distribution efficiency
Ensure proper documentation and compliance for domestic and export shipments
