Job Responsibility:
Assists in the management of the daily functions of the department to provide protection of building assets, employees, visitors, and property
Maintains logs, certifications and documents required by law and Standard Operating Procedures
Assists in the training of staff in established emergency procedures and implements accident and fire prevention procedures
Promotes visitor and employee satisfaction while achieving the operating budget
Managing Security Operations: Oversees all Security operations to include but not limited to patrol process, emergency response, investigations (initial and follow up) for all visitor and employee related incidents, shipping and receiving process (makes recommendations for improvement), electronic key system and manager on duties responsibilities
Assists in appropriately managing a contract security team, ensuring that KPI’s in the contract are met and provides regular updates to the Director of Security
Assists in conducting hazard and risk assessments at the property to include quarterly OSHA/SAFETY audits, incident tracking, and the hazard abatement process
Complies with applicable federal, state and local law and safety regulations
Supervises and reviews initial incident investigations and promotes a timely response for all reported incidents
Follows proper key control guidelines
Assists with ensuring awareness, training and implementation of accident prevention, fire prevention and response
Evaluates total patrol efficacy, within the tour recording system, and provides suggestions to the Director of Security to maximize coverage consistently
Follows up on all unusual activities in and around the property that would impair the well-being of visitors and employees
Situationally conducts after action reviews of incidents to find opportunities to improve all facets of incident response and documentation
Handles complaints, settles disputes, and resolves grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiates with others
Promotes action plans to monitor and control risk
Assists with first aid program for visitors and employees
Works closely with Workplace Management & Facilities team to execute a successful and safe experience for Associates & Visitors
Inspects and critiques the performance of the Security department to establish and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service
Develops liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED with 5 years of experience in security/loss prevention or a related professional field
Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related major with 1 year of experience in security/loss prevention or a related professional field
Strong problem-solving skills demonstrating the ability to make sound, well-reasoned decisions through careful evaluation of risks and understanding the impact on security operations
Must obtain Maryland Guard Card Certification with 30 days of employment with Marriott Headquarters
Nice to have:
2+ years of demonstrated experience leading teams, directly or indirectly
AHLA Certifications a plus (CLSS, CLSD)
ASIS International Certifications a plus (CPP, PSP, PCI)
