Job Description:

The company is a well-established financial institution with a strong presence in Hong Kong. They are currently seeking a meticulous risk professional to join their compliance and control function in Kwai Hing. You will join a specialized Risk Monitoring and Control team characterized by its collaborative culture and technical expertise. The team works closely with front-office branches to uphold the highest standards of financial crime prevention. You will report to the Department Head, working alongside seasoned professionals dedicated to maintaining the bank's integrity.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a primary checker to ensure the quality of periodic reviews, trigger event reviews, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) conducted by branches
  • Conduct CDD periodic and trigger event reviews to ensure full compliance with internal policies and HKMA regulatory requirements
  • Perform thorough KYC screening, including PEP and caution list checks, while maintaining detailed client records
  • Collaborate effectively with branch staff to gather necessary customer information and documentation
  • Highlight deficiencies, suspicious activities, or non-compliance issues directly to the Department Head
  • Analyse data and results from transaction monitoring reports to determine if further investigations are required
  • Support supervisors on ad-hoc compliance projects and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder
  • professional qualifications such as ECF-AML/CFT are highly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of CDD/KYC related experience within the banking sector
  • Practical experience in handling CDD reviews for both personal and corporate customers is essential
  • Well-versed in HKMA’s AML requirements and risk assessment frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese)
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Chinese word processing
