Assists with directing and motivating team while personally assisting in providing high quality service based on requirements and standards. Job Responsibility:
Interact with guests, catering and kitchen teams
Maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with guests
Develop a unique and creative experience for guests
Ensure that meeting rooms are set and equipped properly
Lead shifts and actively participates in the servicing of events
Serve as the liaison between the Kitchen, the Conference Services Manager and the Guest
Ensure coffee breaks are set on time and with the proper items
Ensure evening functions are properly set up and on time
Clean up, accounts, and properly store food and beverage items at the end of a function
Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in catering service, food and wine, P&L, budgets, theme concepts and kitchen operations
Assist with the management of controllable expenses for department
Maintain sanitation levels
Report all maintenance problems to the appropriate persons
Assist clients with last minute requests
Assist with overseeing banquet department and floor operations
Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary and neat working area including meeting and storage space within the Conference Services areas
Ensure the physical appearance of the meeting rooms is up to current standards and also includes the business center and storage rooms
Attend and participates in all pertinent meetings
Assist in the completion of performance reviews of your team members
Train and develop banquet captains/assistant Maitre'd and non-management associates
Maintain customer service satisfaction in banquets and meetings.
Requirements:
Experience in the event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
Deep understanding of various service styles (e.g., synchronized, family-style, buffet) and upscale table etiquette
Solid grounding in wine pairings, mixology, and proper beverage service standards to confidently guide guests and train associates
Exceptional ability to read, interpret, and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) flawlessly, ensuring room setups match client specifications
Strong organizational skills to manage floor plans, timeline transitions (e.g., moving guests from cocktails to dinner), and inventory controls
Interpersonal skills with the ability to anticipate guest needs and handle high-stress complaints or last-minute changes with grace and poise
Seamless communication skills to act as the vital link between the kitchen (Culinary Team) and the floor, ensuring food is served hot, fresh, and on time.
