Through hands on management, supervise an effective and efficient day to day Maintenance and Repairs operation of the property and maintain the hotel grounds in optimum condition. To assist the Chief Engineer in the effective engineering operations of the Hotel.
Job Responsibility
To ensure that each section of the Engineering Division is managed efficiently, maximizing productivity and quality of work.
To be demanding and critical when it comes to hotel standards.
Through Hands on management, supervise closely all engineering personnel in the performance of their duties.
To assist in computerized Preventive Maintenance Programs for all hotel assets thus plant & machinery including but not limited to HVAC equipment, Water treatment plant, Laundry, Hot Water generation plant, kitchen equipment and laundry machinery.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to identify maintenance needs.
To prepare daily work assignments in accordance with workload and priorities for artisans.
To ensure all safety regulations are being strictly observed.
To monitor implementation of all energy conservation procedures and report any irregularities and non-compliance to the Chief Engineer.
To assist the Chief Engineer in monitoring a regular planned Guestroom-servicing program in accordance with company standards.
Ensure all plant & machinery checklists are duly completed, signed off and filed properly.
To ensure a perfect functional condition of all FLS equipment and systems.
Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationship
Overseeing daily maintenance operations, including fault finding, repairs, and installations.
To control and monitor closely all utility consumption, and to ensure optimum energy usage by all departments in the hotel.
To prepare monthly Engineering Department expense reports to be reviewed by the Chief Engineer.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree / Diploma / Journeyman Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Facilities Management or Having served a recognized apprenticeship in the disciplines listed.
Strong computer literacy for managing work orders, preventative maintenance software, and procurement.
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in similar position, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a hotel or resort environment.
Demonstrated experience in managing diverse maintenance systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, refrigeration, and general building fabric.
Financial acumen, budgeting and management reports writing and presentations.
Ability to motivate, train, and manage a technical team, including scheduling and labour control.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Safety conscious and excellent knowledge in enforcing safety programs and ensuring the property meets local fire, health and safety compliance.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods.
Available to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call for emergencies
