Job Description:

Esteem South Academy is looking to recruit an experienced and organised individual to join our academy to assist with the leadership of staff and pupils. You will join the Head of School who leads the site on a daily basis. Pupils at this site will be in all key stages up to KS4. The post will suit someone who can work in a fast-paced environment with vulnerable pupils, is proactive and an excellent role model. The site may have approximately 50 pupils on roll and classes may have up to around 10 pupils in each. We are continually expanding and this is an exciting time to join us.

Job Responsibility:

Assist with the leadership of staff and pupils
Play a key role in staff and pupil induction, bespoke timetables, dual registration contracts and the management of behaviour on a daily basis
Cover supervisor element in teacher absence
Line management responsibility for allocated STLAs
Transport pupils in own car
Carry out home learning
Support with safe and well visits for non-attenders or with transition visits

Requirements:

Good knowledge and experience of working with disaffected pupils in a school or other alternative setting
Affinity for pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties
Strong mental and physical resilience
High expectations
Sense of humour
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Proactive and able to predict problems
Ability to react calmly with thoroughness as a leader
Growth mindset and positive ethos
Daily access to a car with business use included on car insurance
Willingness to contribute fully to the life of the academy
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
