Job Description

As a key member of the Human Resources team reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the Assistant Director of Human Resources is responsible for assisting the HR Director with the execution of a variety of core HR projects, programs, and tasks, such as recruitment and hiring, training and development, salary reviews, progressive discipline, manager consultations, employee relations matters and investigations, etc. The position is responsible for providing highly responsive, confidential support to all stakeholders and client populations, including employees, Human Resources team members, managers, and other internal and external parties. The position will serve as the Director of HR in his/her absence.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist the HR Director with the execution of a variety of core HR projects, programs, and tasks
  • Responsible for recruitment and hiring, training and development, salary reviews, progressive discipline, manager consultations, employee relations matters and investigations
  • Provide highly responsive, confidential support to all stakeholders and client populations
  • Serve as the Director of HR in his/her absence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five to seven years of experience in human resources management, benefits administration or related
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience
  • HR certification preferred
  • State/municipal HR experience very helpful
