Job Responsibility:
Strategic and operational lead for pastoral care, safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion
Place culture, safety, and belonging at the centre of school life

Lead and integrate pastoral care, behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusion
Hold strategic responsibility for the wellbeing, safety, behaviour, and inclusion of all pupils
Oversight of the school’s most vulnerable cohorts
Drive a positive school culture, ensuring high standards, and maintaining full compliance across pastoral and inclusion domains
Act as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead
Take lead responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection matters arising
Maintain a culture of actively prioritising the safeguarding of children
Ensure staff are suitably trained to carry out their safeguarding duties through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Motivate, challenge, and support staff
Effectively manage change and embed whole-school systems
Requirements:
Strong strategic thinking and proven leadership to motivate, challenge, and support staff
Demonstrated impact in leading pastoral, safeguarding, behaviour, or inclusion/SEND work
Resilience and ability to remain calm, composed, and solution-focused
Commitment to inclusion, equality, and safeguarding every child
Ability to effectively manage change and embed whole-school systems
Must act as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead
Must maintain a culture of actively prioritising the safeguarding of children
Must ensure staff are suitably trained to carry out their safeguarding duties through Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Must possess high level of strategic and operational expertise to lead and integrate pastoral care, behaviour, safeguarding, and inclusion
