Job Description:

We are looking for a passionate Assistant Cultural Ambassador who strives for excellence in a fast-paced work environment. This position reports to our Director of Hawaiian Programs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Gives visitors and employees a sense of place
  • along with the ability to identify, appreciate, and share the history and culture of Maui

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a good working knowledge of Hawaii, with preference given to knowledge of South Maui
  • Hawaiian cultural knowledge and experience (e.g., knowledge of Hawaiian arts and crafts – ability to perform or demonstrate, and teach the art or craft, hula expertise, ukulele knowledge, storytelling experience, knowledge of wayfinding, outrigger etc...)
  • Computer literacy, including basic Word and Excel
  • Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well independently and has the initiative to plan proactively
  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking and interacting with guests
  • Flexibility to work weekends nights & or holidays

Nice to have:

  • Ability to play ukulele and/or guitar
  • Knowledge of Hawaiian language
