The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for assisting the Head Golf Professional with all golf shop activities and outside services operations and is responsible for ensuring guests receive outstanding customer service. The Assistant Golf Professional is integral in assisting with golf events, tournaments, outings, leagues, teaching clinics, and other golf programs designed to improve the Club’s products and services as well as its competitive position in the marketplace.
Job Responsibility:
Assist the Head Golf Professional with all golf shop activities and outside services operations
Ensure guests receive outstanding customer service
Assist with golf events, tournaments, outings, leagues, teaching clinics, and other golf programs
Responsible for daily set-up and continued care for welcome areas, parking lot, practice facilities, clubhouse, club & cart storage, and departures
Participate in Tournament Operations, Retail assignments, and Instruction with the Golf Academy
Coordinate member & guests special orders, tee times, access to partner golf courses, and assists club groups with tournament access
Update professional staff and golf services team of any additions made throughout the day
Oversee the rental set inventory and equipment is maintained, updated, and functional
Coordinate with transportation delivery of guests and golf bags
Daily review of golf club shipments via Ship Sticks or other carriers
Ensure Guest Services team has materials needed to preset next day setup
Work in conjunction with restaurant team to coordinate pre-booked beverage packages to be set in golf carts
Assist with assigned tournament details and Group Golf functions
Maintain shop displays and inventory levels on the floor
Rotate to serve as valet attendant, pro shop attendant, starter, ranger, if necessary, as well as an instructor at the academy
Assist with daily staff schedules to ensure proper coverage based on play demands
Requirements:
PGA Class “A” Member in good standing (may consider strong Level II or III Associate with a clear path to soon acquire PGA membership)
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience of private or resort club, preferably as an Assistant Golf Professional
Golf Academy experience a plus and / or Teaching certifications from accredited programs
Bilingual is a plus
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines
Must possess mature personal discretion and sound judgment
Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills
Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail
