The Assistant General Manager assists in managing all leadership, strategic and operational aspects of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay to ensure company, divisional and site performance objectives are met or exceeded. This position assists in the management of multi-layered general management, operations and administration teams and is responsible for the associated performance management, coaching and learning and professional development.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring world-class guest experience is executed according to standards
Accountable for guest satisfaction and associated quality assurance procedures
Primary point of contact with ship teams to ensure seamless transition between ship and shore experience
Direct oversight of teams responsible for Guest Services, Cabanas, Beach Club, Water Activities, Entertainment, Guest transportation, Water safety/ lifeguards, Security, housekeeping and cleaning, landscaping, inventory management and purchasing, marine operations, maintenance, utilities production, health/ environmental/ safety standards
Management of 3rd party food & beverage and retail partners
Work with local partners to ensure operational needs are met
Implements and maintains the annual operating plan
Manages overarching controls associated with labor and operating expenses
Ensures delivery of health and safety procedures
Responsible for the development and accountability of the leadership team
Ensures compliance with all legal aspects and legislation in The Bahamas
Establishes and maintains a prominent level of visibility and involvement throughout the destination
Requirements:
A minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in an operational role in a world-leading hospitality company
Previous experience in international environments leading theme-park operations or multi-national hospitality properties (large resorts, hotels, cruise destinations) is required
Strong guest experience background
Demonstrated leadership capabilities managing large teams with strong guest service and experience background
Knowledge of the principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination and execution
Ability to lead an international staff in a positive and productive manner
Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, industrial engineering or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with employees
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures
Ability to travel within the Bahamas, across the Caribbean islands and to the United States
Active United States Visa, if required to travel
Flexible work hours including weekend hours, as required
Nice to have:
Managing guest amenities such as a beach club, large lagoons, water parks is strongly preferred
Managing food & beverage and retail operations is strongly preferred
Process improvement and industrial engineering principles for operational efficiencies is strongly preferred
Experience working in the Bahamas or English-speaking Caribbean is strongly preferred
Experience managing public health, environmental, safety, and security standards and procedures is strongly preferred
