As the Assistant General Manager (AGM), you will serve as the 'co-captain' to the General Manager, overseeing all aspects of hotel operations with a focus on guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, and revenue generation. You will lead a high-energy team to deliver the Aloft brand service strategy, ensuring that our 4,000 sq ft of event space, signature W XYZ bar, and airport transportation services operate with seamless efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the co-captain to the General Manager, overseeing all aspects of hotel operations with a focus on guest and employee satisfaction, financial performance, and revenue generation
Lead a high-energy team to deliver the Aloft brand service strategy
Manage daily shift operations across all departments—Front Office, Housekeeping, and Engineering—especially in the General Manager's absence
Oversee the execution of meetings and events in the 4,000 sq ft of event space, ensuring all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and brand setup standards are met
Direct daily breakfast service, the W XYZ bar, and evening food offerings
monitor inventory, food costs, and compliance with health and alcohol service regulations
Maintain strict oversight of the airport shuttle service, ensuring scheduling aligns with peak flight times and safety protocols are followed
Review financial statements, sales reports, and activity data to identify cost-reduction opportunities and drive property profitability
Support HR activities including recruiting, hiring, and conducting thorough orientations to foster a culturally diverse and high-performing workplace
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
4 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area. OR a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or Business Administration
2 years of experience in the guest services, front desk, or housekeeping area. Prior supervisory experience in Food and Beverage or as a Department Head
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced airport hotel environment
Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS) and Microsoft Windows
Physical: Ability to stand for an entire shift and work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Nice to have:
Prior supervisory experience in Food and Beverage or as a Department Head
