Job Responsibility:
Oversee front-of-house operations across six sailing vessels and one cafe within the venue
manage a team of 150+ part-time and seasonal employees
oversee setup and breakdown of special events ensuring alignment with client requests and proper execution
review banquet event orders for chartered events and group sales for accuracy
prioritize operational needs across multiple locations
support General Manager with tasks assigned by client’s Sales and Marketing teams
maintain service standards through evaluations and addressing customer concerns
enforce high quality of food preparation and service in accordance with Department of Health standards
implement and maintain effective communication with clients and employees
ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory management, and cash handling procedures
conduct physical audits of inventory and product, perform research and reconciliations
manage monthly safety reporting and audits
carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining employees, and resolving complaints
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or related field or equivalent combination of education and practical experience
minimum of three years’ experience overseeing food and beverage operations or event management in a fast-paced environment
must have or obtain NYC Food Protection Certificate
strong creative aptitude, interpersonal, and analytical skills
ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
adaptability to daily changes
excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and delegate effectively
receptiveness to constructive criticism and operational adjustments
ability to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism
flexibility to work traditional and non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
proficiency in data processing and Microsoft Office Suite applications
knowledge and effective operational experience with retail point-of-sale (POS) systems
