Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee front-of-house operations across six sailing vessels and one cafe within the venue
  • manage a team of 150+ part-time and seasonal employees
  • oversee setup and breakdown of special events ensuring alignment with client requests and proper execution
  • review banquet event orders for chartered events and group sales for accuracy
  • prioritize operational needs across multiple locations
  • support General Manager with tasks assigned by client’s Sales and Marketing teams
  • maintain service standards through evaluations and addressing customer concerns
  • enforce high quality of food preparation and service in accordance with Department of Health standards
  • implement and maintain effective communication with clients and employees
  • ensure compliance with company service standards, inventory management, and cash handling procedures
  • conduct physical audits of inventory and product, perform research and reconciliations
  • manage monthly safety reporting and audits
  • carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding, disciplining employees, and resolving complaints

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or related field or equivalent combination of education and practical experience
  • minimum of three years’ experience overseeing food and beverage operations or event management in a fast-paced environment
  • must have or obtain NYC Food Protection Certificate
  • strong creative aptitude, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • adaptability to daily changes
  • excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, and delegate effectively
  • receptiveness to constructive criticism and operational adjustments
  • ability to perform under pressure while maintaining professionalism
  • flexibility to work traditional and non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • proficiency in data processing and Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • knowledge and effective operational experience with retail point-of-sale (POS) systems
