Job Description

Arrive is looking for a highly skilled commercial and technology attorney with expertise drafting and negotiating complex technology and commercial contracts and providing strategic legal advice in a fast-paced, global company environment with a pragmatic, business-minded approach. Technology, product, and intellectual property experience is preferred. In this role, you will collaborate with our business teams and stakeholders in the US, Europe, and other locations around the world. You will advise on strategic legal matters, contribute directly to our corporate strategy, and act as a champion for leveraging AI and legal technology to optimize our legal services. This is a hybrid role, leading the commercial contracting legal workflows and commercial legal team in North America.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage the commercial contracting legal workflows and commercial legal team in North America
  • Actively mentor and provide direct guidance to legal professionals on commercial workflow management
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, including SaaS licensing, enterprise sales, vendor, and strategic partnerships
  • Enable business goals while ensuring contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations and protect the company's interests
  • Collaborate with and provide trusted counsel to cross-functional teams such as Sales, Go to Market, Product & Technology, Marketing, Procurement, and Strategy & Transformation to assess and manage legal and business risks effectively
  • Advise cross-functional teams on legal, regulatory, and privacy implications during the design and functionality stages of new products and features
  • Work with and strategically manage external counsel as necessary to achieve company objectives efficiently
  • Lead and support other critical corporate projects and strategic initiatives as requested
  • Provide strategic regulatory advice on evolving legal, regulatory, and business risks impacting operations, product and commercial initiatives
  • Coordinate with outside counsel and internal teams to resolve disputes and manage pre-litigation or active claims
  • Stay updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting the company's operations and translate these updates into practical business guidance
  • Develop scalable legal frameworks, guidance, playbooks, processes and training for the commercial contracting processes
  • Proactively identify, test, and embrace AI and legal technologies to drive operational efficiency and legal enablement across the business
  • Ensure widespread compliance with legal team requirements by developing and delivering targeted training and guidance to relevant internal teams

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor degree from a reputable accredited U.S. law school and an active license in good standing with one or more state bars (Georgia preferred)
  • At least 10+ years of legal experience in commercial contracts with a blend of in-house at a global technology company and outside counsel at a corporate law firm or a sophisticated boutique law firm
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and international laws, regulations, and industry standards affecting a global technology company
  • Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex technology, product, intellectual property, and commercial contracts
  • English as native spoken and written language

Nice to have

  • Technology, product, and intellectual property experience is preferred
  • Other language competencies are highly desirable
