The Group Chief Accountants Department (GCAD) is the primary custodian for Unilever’s Group financial & management reporting and Global Financial Controls Framework, manages the global audit relationship with KPMG, determines and ensures adherence to Unilever’s accounting policies, and many other projects related to how Unilever measures its performance and presents and communicates this to the external world. This role focuses on the accounting and reporting of the consolidated income statement for the Unilever Group.
Job Responsibility:
GCAD lead in addressing issues and queries for the reporting of management results
Support the RAO Manager in the preparation of the Consolidated Income Statement within tight deadlines and analysis of the results
Responsible for reconciling the financial & management results prior to monthly close activities commencing
Support in the preparation of relevant Income Statement notes in Unilever’s Annual Report and Accounts (ARA)
Partner with Investor Relations to ensure that the statements and the numbers in the press release are complete and accurate
Performing and documenting the controls for the quarterly close
Work with KPMG for Group audit requirements on specific topics of ownership (e.g. Income Statement, ARA notes, quarterly controls)
Identify accounting and reporting training needs for countries & Operating Centres and support delivery of training as needed
Bring a strategic view on process improvement and automatisation
Active participation in GCAD’s ongoing and/or new projects, as identified by their manager
Routine and ad hoc financial analysis
Requirements:
Exposure to Unilever’s Financial & Management Reporting process
(Desirable) SCOA understanding
(Desirable) Knowledge and understanding of Unilever’s Accounting Policy Manual and Global Controls Framework
(Desirable but can be learned in role) SAP / iFinance knowledge
(Desirable) Professional Accounting Qualification (PQ or FQ)
