Job Description:

The Assistant Executive Head Housekeeper at St. Pancras London Autograph Collection oversees performance and work activities of the Housekeeping team, promoting cleanliness standards, managing budgets, and ensuring a luxurious guest experience. The role involves supervising, training, and appraising staff while maintaining health, safety, and operational efficiency within a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Managing housekeeping operations and budgets
  • verifying knowledge and understanding of Health Safety regulations and making sure they are up to date
  • assisting in managing the daily operation of the housekeeping department and employees
  • obtaining list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments
  • inventorying stock to ensure adequate supplies
  • managing linen inventory and guest supplies and assisting in the ordering of supplies as necessary
  • verifying guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner
  • working effectively with the Engineering department on guest room maintenance needs
  • understanding and complying with loss prevention policies and procedures
  • verifying all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
  • assisting in supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space
  • supervising housekeeping and all related areas in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper
  • observing service behaviors of employees and providing feedback to individuals
  • continuously striving to improve service performance
  • participating in the management of the department’s controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • understanding the impact of department’s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and managing to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
  • managing and conducting human resources activities
  • interviewing, selecting and training employees
  • appraising employee productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status
  • monitoring employee attendance and recording absences/sickness
  • helping direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals
  • conducting annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • promoting exceptional customer service
  • handling guest problems and complaints seeking assistance as necessary
  • assisting in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
  • setting a positive example for guest relations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a similar role
  • exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels
