The RECONNECT project focuses on two complementary therapeutic strategies addressing two major roadblocks in optic nerve regenerative medicine: the defective regulation of cytoskeleton dynamics in RGC axons and macrophage-driven inflammation induced by the degenerative process. These strategies are explored by leveraging the unique advantages offered by human retinal organoids derived from pluripotent stem cells, while also integrating additional complementary models to identify and test candidate targets that promote RGC axon growth/regeneration and connectivity.
Job Responsibility:
culturing various human iPS cell lines
generating retinal organoids
purifying and characterizing human RGCs
providing high-quality biological material for subsequent transplantation studies
participating in the daily organization of lab activities
maintenance of experimental records
Requirements:
Master 2 (or equivalent) in Life Sciences
strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology
experience with stem cell culture and/or 3D in vitro models is highly desirable
strong organizational skills
scientific curiosity
rigor
ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary consortia
proficiency in English and French
Nice to have:
experience with stem cell culture and/or 3D in vitro models
What we offer:
stimulating and creative working conditions in a dynamic, international, and interdisciplinary research environment
