Job Description:

Assistant Engineer Manager position at Four Points by Sheraton Chennai OMR, assisting department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation while maintaining building and grounds with attention to safety and security.

Job Responsibility:

Assists department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation
Accountable for maintaining building and grounds with attention to safety, security and asset protection
Assigns, tracks and follows up on status of work assigned to staff and contractors
Supervises distribution of repair work orders
Assists in planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs
Supervises Engineering in absence of Director of Engineering
Manages physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems
Inspects and evaluates physical condition of facilities
Provides emergency response services 24/7
Repairs equipment as necessary
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
Helps train employees in safety procedures
Participates in employee performance appraisal process

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area
technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing
OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major
2 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area
