Job Description:

This is a full-time, in-office, entry-level, and permanent position based in our Toronto office. To strengthen our Editorial team, we are looking for recent graduates who are eager to stay connected to scientific research by helping researchers worldwide publish their latest results.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the editorial process for MDPI journals, including Viruses
  • Organize the peer review process for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions
  • Handle email communication between authors, reviewers, editors, and internal teams
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the editorial and production teams
  • Ensure that scholarly articles are accurately edited and published according to tight deadlines with a high degree of consistency

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Virology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, or a related field
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic, international environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Very good communication and coordination skills

Nice to have:

  • A PhD in any of the above fields is considered an asset
  • Professional experience with scholarly publishing is an asset
  • Experience in creating presentations and scientific writing is an asset
