Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, you will oversee the daily operations of the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom Department to ensure that all hotel departments have adequate supplies to perform their duties efficiently. You will also keep up to date on new and alternative products in the market and consult with hotel leaders on products to enhance cost effectiveness and quality standards. You will maintain the highest level of integrity and transparency in dealing with business partners and ensure that business is awarded fairly.

Job Responsibility:

  • Work closely with all Hotel department leaders to purchase the highest quality products while constantly searching for the most competitive price
  • Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards as they relate to the Purchasing Department are complied with
  • Ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel-specific purchasing contracts and conduct, manage and complete competitive bids in accordance with policy and ensure bids are on file where applicable prior to execution of contracts
  • Assist in implementing and supporting new local and corporate technology and equipment as it relates to the purchasing function
  • Together with the Purchasing Assistant Manager, oversee the day-to-day functions of the Purchasing team and ensure that all items received by the hotel are properly documented in accordance with Four Seasons Purchasing and Receiving Procedures
  • Follow the weekly cleaning and maintenance schedule and ensure the areas are well kept in accordance with WHS standards
  • Establish and maintain par stocks on all inventoried items, keeping in mind that inventory levels must be kept as low as possible without compromising the efficiency of the hotel

Requirements:

  • Superior knowledge of purchasing and procurement in a luxury environment dealing with high quality products
  • Exceptional attention to detail and solid administrative and systems skills
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship building skills with all key stakeholders
  • Excellent financial acumen and experience managing large inventories whilst controlling costs
  • The ability to prioritise, organise and lead with a resilient mindset, in a fast-paced, evolving environment
