Job Description

Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Director of People & Culture to join the Team! This role oversees the daily P&C operations while supporting the Director of People & Culture in shaping and executing strategic initiatives focused on employee experience and engagement. The Assistant Director of P&C will deliver comprehensive HR support, collaborating closely with department leaders to address functional needs and drive people-focused solutions. The overarching objective is to position the property as an employer of choice within its destination.

Job Responsibility

  • Cultural Advocate of the Golden Rule in every employee action
  • Leads efforts to ensure today’s and tomorrow’s talent through commitment to proactive recruitment strategies, performance management and career development processes and discussions, in their hotel
  • Act as an objective 3rd party in employee counselling, problem solving or conflict situation and communicate to Director of People & Culture any circumstances that may raise legal issues for the hotel

  • Actively supports succession planning for Top Talent managers
  • Supporting the Hotel as a Business Partner and guiding colleagues on P&C business partner essentials including but not limited to discipline, benefits, core and culture standards
  • Drives communication by hosting regular departmental meetings as necessary to support communication needs in their hotel
  • Fosters relationships with others as a coach, provides advice and suggestions that leads others to act in new and more productive ways
  • Supports and drives company P&C initiatives to ensure successful implantation and compliance
  • Actively supports recruitment, selection, onboarding and development requirements
  • Drives Standards Achievement as a champion for standards achievement through training, testing, campaigns, and initiatives in their hotel
  • Able to create, forecast, build and execute plans, budgets and policies and is able to drive change proactively
  • Supervise all employee recreation programs, the full life cycle of the employee experience and employee communications
  • Completes other tasks/projects as assigned by the Director of People & Culture
  • Works to ensure that all P&C programs, initiatives, including learning resources are delivered under all budgetary circumstances
  • Evaluates and analyzes the effectiveness of P&C programs/initiatives for their added value and/ or return on investment in their hotel
  • Works to improve labor costs and productivity results in line with Four Seasons business objectives and strategies in their hotel and shares best practices
  • Supports the DP&C in analyzing compensation and benefits trends and make recommendations to address the balance between cost of compensation and benefits and the employee experience, when appropriate
  • Able to assist with audits, market studies and trends for all compensation issues in their hotel

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in a related position with Four Seasons or other organization
  • Experience in luxury hospitality is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and foster an open, inclusive work environment
  • Proven capability to empower teams and encourage ownership and accountability
  • Strong communication skills, with a commitment to transparency and regular, honest dialogue
