The town of Littleton is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time 40 hour/week, benefits eligible Assistant Director position in the Parks, Recreation, and Community Education Department.
Job Responsibility:
Coordination, oversight, and development of recreation and enrichment programs, special events, Long Lake Beach operations, facility scheduling, and staff supervision
Acts as the departmental leader in the Director’s absence
Assists with budgeting and capital planning
Ensures staff certifications and safety standards are upheld
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in education, Recreation, or related field
Experience in developing and scheduling a variety of enrichment programs
Experience in municipal government
One to three years’ experience in the recreation field including one year in a supervisory capacity
or any equivalent combination of education and experience
A current Certified Park and Recreation Professional certification from the National Recreation and Parks Association or ability to obtain certification with one year
A current Red Cross certification in CPR/AED and First Aid for professional rescuers
Nice to have:
Other American Red Cross certifications such as Health and Safety Instructor
