Job Description:

The town of Littleton is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time 40 hour/week, benefits eligible Assistant Director position in the Parks, Recreation, and Community Education Department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordination, oversight, and development of recreation and enrichment programs, special events, Long Lake Beach operations, facility scheduling, and staff supervision
  • Acts as the departmental leader in the Director’s absence
  • Assists with budgeting and capital planning
  • Ensures staff certifications and safety standards are upheld

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Recreation, or related field
  • Experience in developing and scheduling a variety of enrichment programs
  • Experience in municipal government
  • One to three years’ experience in the recreation field including one year in a supervisory capacity
  • or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A current Certified Park and Recreation Professional certification from the National Recreation and Parks Association or ability to obtain certification with one year
  • A current Red Cross certification in CPR/AED and First Aid for professional rescuers

Nice to have:

Other American Red Cross certifications such as Health and Safety Instructor
