The town of Acton is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Innovation and Technology to join the IT department. This position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations of the Town’s technology environment, helping ensure systems remain reliable, secure, and responsive to the needs of municipal departments.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting daily operations of the Town’s technology environment
Ensuring systems remain reliable, secure, and responsive to the needs of municipal departments
Assisting in coordinating IT operations
Managing technology projects
Ensuring reliable technology services across town departments
Serving as the department’s operational lead
Supporting infrastructure oversight, vendor coordination, and implementation of technology initiatives
Assisting with supervising IT Technicians and the IT Help Desk Technician
Coordinating day-to-day assignments and providing technical guidance to staff
Serving as a technical resource for complex system issues
Collaborating with Town departments to identify and implement technology solutions that improve service delivery
Requirements:
Minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in information technology operations, infrastructure management, or systems administration
Experience supporting enterprise systems and coordinating technology projects
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, public administration, or related field
