To assist the Director of Housekeeping in the smooth and efficient operation of the housekeeping department ensuring maximum guest satisfaction, and adhering to the standards required by the hotel and assist in the planning process.
Job Responsibility:
Responsible for the cleanliness of the entire hotel
Ensures that colleagues are aware of the relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the department objectives
Is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the housekeeping attendants to ensure that all tasks are carried out smoother and efficiently
Helps in maintaining record of all deep cleaning work, window cleaning, carpet shampooing
Follows-up on all out of order rooms
Ensures correct distribution and control of master keys
Conducts inspections of corridors, public areas, back of house and rooms to ensure proper cleaning
Ensures that all equipment is well maintained and properly handled
Handles guest complaints in accordance with the correct GIA form and reports all complaints to the Executive Housekeeper
Checks log books and follows up on outstanding matters
Assists in taking various inventories
Communicates to colleagues the importance to meet the customer
Ensuring the availability of the resources
Actively promotes an awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization
Ensures that responsibilities and authorities are defined and communicated within the organization
Ensures appropriate communication processes are established
Assists in all administrative aspects of the departments ensuring that necessary clear and concise records are maintained
Ensures through effective supervision that all services offered in the housekeeping department are always available and are carried out with the outmost efficiency and courtesy as per the department operations manual
Liaises with outside laundry and technical service departments to ensure the smooth flow of linen supplies and repair work
Liaises with the Front Office on anticipated guest check-ins, check-outs, room’s assignments and rooming list
Liaise with F&B for special needs
Assists in the preparation of the annual operational budget and CAPEX requirements
Is constantly aware of cost savings to ensure expenses are under control
Ensures that all colleagues report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform at all time
Assists in the building of an efficient team of colleagues by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety, training and development
Ensures that all colleagues provide a courteous and professional service at all times
Conducts performance appraisals of designated staff as required
Assists the housekeeping staff whenever necessary in performing all job functions
Conducts daily line ups
Ensures that all colleagues have a complete understanding of the hotel’s policy relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety
Monitors and ensures that the Housekeeping staff performs their job functions to the hotel’s expected level of service
Ensures that housekeeping staff is well trained and supervised
Conducts training when required
Carries out any duties as assigned by the Director of Housekeeping
Attends related meeting
Respond to any changes in the housekeeping function as dictated by the hotel
