Job Description:

We are looking for an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage to join our Team in Lisbon! Reporting to the Director of Food and Beverage, this role oversees our Banquet, Restaurant, Bar and In Room Dining operations. The role balances the critical importance of big picture leadership with the day to day management of the operation, by developing and engaging the team, problem solving and delivering results for the business.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee Banquet, Restaurant, Bar and In Room Dining operations
Provide leadership, feedback, coaching and meaningful development plans
Cultivate a culture of connection, craftsmanship and character
Drive performance and evolve how we do things according to industry trends and best practices
Maintain a visibility in the operation at key times to support operational teams and the guest experience
Proactively seek the industry’s top talent
Develop strong relationships across the hotel with all stakeholders
Drive profitability by closely managing labour and operating expenses
Provide leadership and management for the Food & Beverage division
Coordinate the selection, training, development, and evaluation of employees and managers
Control labour and operating expenses
To prepare a timely and accurate forecast
To be visible in the operation, recognize and maintain relationships with regular guests
Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers, third parties/vendors/suppliers and superiors
Assist with set-up and cleaning of operational areas
Create and post employee schedules
Lead and motivate the teams under own responsibility

Requirements:

Experience and knowledge in leading a Food & Beverage team in a luxury environment
Excellent communication and organization skills
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
The candidate must hold the required authorization to work in an European country
Reading, writing and oral proficiency both in Portuguese and English
