The Assistant Director of Finance will assist the Director of Finance in the administration of all financial aspects of the Resort’ operation, ensure that all local and corporate policies and procedures are observed, and supervise the day-to-day operation of the Finance and Accounting office.
Job Responsibility:
Assist the Director of Finance in the administration of all financial aspects of the Resort’ operation
Ensure that all local and corporate policies and procedures are observed
Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Finance and Accounting office
Recruit, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline finance employees
Assist the Director of Finance in the administration of all financial aspects of the hotel's operation including residences operations
Meet with the Director of Finance on a regular basis to communicate all accounting activities and results
Prepare financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
Run Daily Cash Position report and maintain the highest level of investment of excess funds
Assist the Director of Finance in preparation of all budgets, forecasts and audits
Ensure the outstanding liability for all revenue/profit related fees is accurate
Ensure that monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts are prepared
Monitor and control expenses of the hotel
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance
Requirements:
University degree – major in accounting or finance preferred
Minimum 3-5 years management experience in the related position with Four Seasons or the hospitality industry
Experience in hotel operations, preferably Four Seasons or other luxury service environments
Experience managing in diverse cultures
Working technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting, Purchasing and Food and Beverage control
Excellent understanding of Month-End Process including, but not limited to, preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Strong leadership skills and ability to coach, teach, and mentor others to improve performance
Strong written and oral presentation skills
Requires exceptional knowledge of and ability to operate computer equipment to include all Microsoft Office products
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with department heads
Strategic, analytical and have solid business acumen
Must be fluent in English
