Job Description:

Assists department head in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation. Accountable for maintaining the building and grounds with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Assigns, tracks and follows up on status of work assigned to staff and contractors. Helps increase guest and employee satisfaction through effective communications and training.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assists in managing budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation
  • Maintains building and grounds with attention to safety, security and asset protection
  • Assigns, tracks and follows up on work assigned to staff and contractors
  • Supervises day to day operations of Engineering
  • Manages physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems
  • Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety
  • Supervises distribution of repair work orders
  • Maintains grounds, meeting rooms, ballrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles and recreational facilities
  • Acts as technical liaison for all departments
  • Recommends additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations
  • Selects and purchases new equipment, supplies, and furnishings
  • Inspects and evaluates physical condition of facilities
  • Manages parts, supplies and equipment inventories
  • Performs inspections
  • Assists in evaluating and implementing new technologies
  • Assists in establishing energy conservation program
  • Ensures necessary permits and licenses are obtained
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and safety standards
  • Ensures compliance with Engineering departmental policies
  • Displays leadership in guest hospitality
  • Interacts with guests for feedback
  • Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Supervises staffing levels
  • Trains employees in safety procedures
  • Trains other department employees in fire protection, safety and evacuation procedures
  • Provides feedback to employees

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area
  • technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major
  • 2 years experience in engineering and maintenance or related professional area
