W Sydney is now casting for an Assistant Director of Beverage & Food to assist in leading the Beverage and Food operation that includes restaurant, bars, room service and banqueting. The Assistant Director of Beverage & Food drives operational excellence across all venues, delivering high-quality service and outstanding guest experiences. The role strengthens daily operations, improves efficiency, and upholds brand standards while supporting the hotel’s B&F concepts. Working closely with the Director of Beverage & Food and the wider B&F and Events/Catering leadership team, the Assistant Director ensures seamless execution, operational consistency, and continuous improvement to elevate guest satisfaction and team performance.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in leading the Beverage and Food operation that includes restaurant, bars, room service and banqueting
Drives operational excellence across all venues, delivering high-quality service and outstanding guest experiences
Strengthens daily operations, improves efficiency, and upholds brand standards while supporting the hotel’s B&F concepts
Working closely with the Director of Beverage & Food and the wider B&F and Events/Catering leadership team
Ensures seamless execution, operational consistency, and continuous improvement to elevate guest satisfaction and team performance
Requirements:
Assist in developing and executing Beverage and Food Strategy and Goals
Develops a beverage and food operating strategy that is aligned with the brand’s business strategy and leads its execution
Ensure consistently high service quality and elevate guest satisfaction through strong operational management and service delivery
Works with direct reports to review business in house and potential business in surrounding area and troubleshoot potential challenges/conflicts
Sets expectations and holds beverage and food leadership team accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors and achieving goals
Communicates critical information gained from pre- and post-convention meetings to areas of responsibility
Reviews financial reports and statements to determine how the department is performing against budget
Ensures cash control and liquor control policies are in place in beverage and food areas and followed by all B&F talent
Encourages calculated risk-taking to generate incremental revenue and deliver Savvy Service
Creates an atmosphere in all beverage and food areas that meets or exceeds guest expectations
Reviews guest feedback, guest satisfaction results and other data to identify areas of improvement
Strives to improve service performance
Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process
Ensures new hires participate in the department’s orientation program and receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job
Ensures B&F talent receive on-going training to understand guest expectations
