Northern Rivers Community Gateway has been delivering the Rainbow Region Kids (RRK) OOSH program for many years. Our well-established, accredited child-centred program provides before school care, after school care, and vacation care across various locations in the Northern Rivers region. We’re currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Coordinator to join our team at our Mullumbimby service. In this role, you’ll develop valuable skills in building strong relationships with children and families, while helping to deliver engaging, active programs. Job Responsibility:
Lead the day-to-day operations at the service, ensuring a fun, safe, and enriching environment for school-aged children
Develop and facilitate engaging programs that include sports, games, cooking, art, and craft, catering to individual and group needs
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and the school community
Supervise and mentor educators, junior employees, and students to ensure high quality service delivery
Ensure a safe and inclusive environment in accordance with regulatory requirements
Attend a compulsory weekly team meeting and a monthly all-staff meeting at the Lismore Head Office
Requirements:
Diploma in Children’s Services (or equivalent) OR 3+ years of experience working with school-aged children
Ability to work independently and supervise groups of up to 15 children
Experience in leading and mentoring staff in an education setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of childhood development, programming, and regulations (e.g., NQF, My Time Our Place Framework)
Ability to use digital and cloud-based systems for administration and reporting
Current NSW Working with Children Check
Current Driver’s License
Willingness to undertake a National Police Check
