We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a dynamic team in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This role provides an excellent opportunity to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and contribute to the strategic planning and analysis of the organization. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will play a critical role in managing financial reporting and mentoring the accounting team.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and oversee the completion of consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring compliance with relevant standards
Manage the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions
Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance and trend evaluations, to support decision-making
Develop financial forecasts and contribute to long-term strategic planning initiatives
Implement and maintain robust internal controls while collaborating with external auditors
Lead and mentor a small team of accounting professionals, fostering their growth and development
Monitor budgeting processes and provide insights to support effective financial planning
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable regulations
Optimize financial processes and systems to improve operational efficiency
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate accounting, including 3 years in a supervisory role
Proficiency in financial systems and intermediate-level Excel skills
Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with financial consolidation
Background in manufacturing, distribution, or service industries is required
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data
Excellent leadership and team management capabilities
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments
