We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our client's team in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, and supporting compliance with established standards. You will collaborate closely with the VP of Finance to manage internal controls and budgets while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Job Responsibility:
Perform daily accounting tasks such as maintaining the general ledger and handling journal entries
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy
Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including detailed supporting schedules
Record and manage transactions related to asset purchases and sales
Prepare and file local and gross receipts tax returns in compliance with regulations
Provide support for payroll processing and 401k accounting
Manage tax registration and filings for new or transitioning state locations
Deliver financial analysis and insights to support decision-making for leadership
Monitor cash flow and assist with effective cash management strategies
Provide guidance and mentorship to entry level accounting staff to foster growth and development
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
advanced degrees are preferred
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or Controller-related role
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
Hands-on experience with multi-entity accounting
Strong skills in analysis, organization, and communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and major accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and meet deadlines under pressure
Nice to have:
familiarity with Canadian subsidiaries is advantageous
