Job Description:

Are you an experienced finance professional ready to take on a key leadership role within an accounting team? Do you have the ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership to manage essential financial operations? Do you have prior experience in the distribution industry, particularly within a national, multi-location organization? ... If you are an experienced Accounting (and Finance) professional, ready for your next step either having mentored teams or leading teams directly, this might just be the right opportunity for you!

Job Responsibility:

Partner with senior financial leadership to supervise core accounting functions such as AP, AR, inventory tracking
Accurate maintenance of GL accounts
Assist in month end close process
Credit - a priority of the role will be assessing their credit process (credit policies, payment terms, relationships with banks)
Collaborate with external auditors
Provide leadership and guidance to the Accounting team
Continously identify and implement ways to reduce manual tasks and improve financial accuracy and speed
Tax filings

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
CPA designation highly preferred
In depth knowledge of Canadian GAAP
Large ERP systems experience
Proficient with Excel
Demonstrated leadership skills
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Analytical mindset
Prior experience in the distribution industry within a National, multi-location, organization
