We are looking for an Assistant Controller to help lead core accounting operations and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting for the organization. This role is based in West Palm Beach, Florida, and offers the opportunity to partner with leadership on financial planning, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to guide a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibility
Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring reports align with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements
Direct general ledger operations by overseeing journal entries, reconciliations, and the monthly close cycle to maintain accurate financial records
Monitor internal control practices and support both internal and external audit activities through organized documentation and timely issue resolution
Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including invoice handling, payment timing, and analysis of cash movement
Perform detailed balance sheet reviews and account analysis to identify variances, correct discrepancies, and strengthen accounting processes
Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial analysis to support business planning and leadership decisions
Coach and develop accounting, AP, and AR team members to build technical capability, accountability, and collaboration
Requirements
5+ years of accounting or finance experience, including significant exposure to general ledger management and month-end close
Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal control frameworks, and financial reporting compliance requirements
Advanced Excel skills, with additional experience in data analysis tools or Power BI considered beneficial
Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial statement analysis
Technical accounting expertise in areas such as accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, double-entry accounting, and percentage-of-completion methods
Proven ability to support audits, prepare audit-ready documentation, and communicate financial information clearly to leadership
Demonstrated success mentoring team members while managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
