Robert Half's client is looking for a highly skilled Assistant Controller to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee essential financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of leadership abilities, technical accounting expertise, and a commitment to driving operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, budgeting, and tax-related activities
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and expenditures to support informed decision-making
Implement and enforce internal financial policies and controls to maintain compliance and operational integrity
Coordinate annual audit and tax-related activities, collaborating with external auditors and regulators
Supervise and mentor financial personnel, providing guidance on performance evaluations and growth opportunities
Develop strategies for cost optimization and operational improvements to enhance financial performance
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements by managing preparation of reports and schedules
Continually assess and refine financial procedures and internal control systems to improve efficiency
Support strategic financial planning efforts and contribute to long-term organizational goals
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
advanced degrees are preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
At least 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Proficiency in full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation
Strong expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning
Advanced skills in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
