Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our clients team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will play a vital part in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting across various business lines. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive accounting expert to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization.

Job Responsibility:

Perform daily monitoring of bank accounts, oversee wire transfers, and manage government payments and returned items
Oversee key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing
Manage and maintain fixed asset ledgers, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation of assets
Prepare and manage payroll processes for both the company and clients
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Review and oversee bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
Ensure corporate tax compliance by preparing accurate tax returns and taking advantage of applicable tax benefits
Prepare and file reports required by regulatory agencies, including annual reports and state sales tax filings
Coordinate annual independent audits and provide necessary documentation and support
Develop variance analysis and reporting for business line operating budgets versus actual expenses

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required
A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate or public accounting
At least 5 years of direct supervisory experience managing teams
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
Proficiency in payroll processes and applicable payroll tax requirements
Expertise in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Enterprise One
