Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will collaborate with the Controller and other leaders to oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Job Responsibility

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and general ledger activities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Assist in the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts to support organizational goals
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and insights that inform strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with tax filings, regulatory requirements, and audits by collaborating with external auditors and tax professionals
  • Implement and enhance accounting procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
  • Manage cash flow processes and provide recommendations for optimizing working capital
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and financial performance initiatives
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced finance staff, fostering growth and collaboration
  • Lead special financial projects and perform ad hoc analyses as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant-level role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting
  • Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and familiarity with accounting systems
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and effectively communicate findings to diverse stakeholders
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all financial tasks
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and results-driven mindset
