Job Responsibility:

Lead day-to-day financial operations across payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, travel, expense reimbursement, and related payment activities to ensure reliable execution
Act as the main point of escalation for transaction-related issues, resolving operational challenges that affect timely processing and financial accuracy
Oversee payroll administration, including supervision of payroll leadership and coordination with an external payroll provider to support compliant and accurate pay processing
Review payroll reconciliations, documentation practices, and internal controls to maintain audit readiness and support regulatory compliance
Direct accounts payable and procurement operations, including vendor setup, invoice handling, disbursements, and purchasing workflow management
Coordinate operational deadlines and cross-functional handoffs that support monthly and year-end close activities, enabling accurate General Ledger reporting
Develop and maintain standard procedures for financial operations, strengthening internal controls, segregation of duties, and process consistency
Identify workflow inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and operational risks, then implement improvements in partnership with Finance leadership, Human Resources, and the Workday team
Coach and manage finance operations staff, balancing team workload, supporting career development, and providing regular updates on performance and process improvement efforts

Requirements:

Demonstrated experience leading finance operations in areas such as payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, and month-end close activities
Strong knowledge of General Ledger processes, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements
Background supporting financial statement audits and maintaining documentation that meets compliance standards
Familiarity with payroll regulations and operational practices involving federal, state, and local requirements
Ability to analyze transaction workflows, resolve process issues, and improve operational efficiency across multiple stakeholders
Experience working with enterprise financial systems
exposure to Workday Finance is preferred
Knowledge of DCAA-related standards is a plus
Proven leadership skills with experience supervising staff and coordinating cross-functional financial operations
