Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Washington, District of Columbia. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in non-profit financial operations who is ready to contribute to key accounting functions and drive accurate financial reporting.

Job Responsibility:

Lead month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
oversee general ledger operations, maintaining compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards
prepare and analyze detailed financial reports to inform decision-making
manage fund accounting activities specific to non-profit organizations
collaborate with internal teams to ensure audit readiness and address financial discrepancies.

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management
strong proficiency in financial reporting and analysis
hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
solid understanding of fund accounting principles, particularly within non-profit organizations
knowledge of audit procedures and financial compliance
excellent organizational and communication skills to work collaboratively across teams.
