Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and resourceful Assistant Controller to join our team on a contract basis. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and leading the accounting team during a transitional period. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial processes and reporting, while collaborating with senior management to support organizational goals.

Job Responsibility:

Manage daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and cash management
Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of monthly financial statements in alignment with organizational standards
Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to maintain efficient workflows
Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Support both internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and reports
Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and controls to enhance efficiency
Provide guidance and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Collaborate with senior management to align financial operations with organizational objectives
Lead or assist in finance-related projects, including system implementations and integrations
Coordinate with external consultants and contractors on specialized financial tasks when needed

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles
Proven experience in an Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar position
Advanced proficiency in accounting software, particularly Skyline, and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of internal controls and regulatory compliance
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
